Q: I am in the process of remodeling my master bath. Right now when walking into the bathroom you have the shower enclosure on the right with a knee wall between the shower and the bathtub. We are thinking about installing a free standing tub and replacing the shower enclosure with a seamless shower. For resale purposes would we be better off with a curb all around the shower and remove the knee wall, leave the knee wall as is or extend the knee wall to 72″, which is going to be the height of the shower and just replace the shower door and not a full enclosure.

A: Thank you for your submission. For resale, the design appeal of a master bathroom will vary based individual taste. Popular master bathroom design currently includes a tile shower, tile or granite curb, and frameless shower glass. However, trends change, and preferences differ based on the individual. Unless you are planning a move in the near future, we suggest that you design your bathroom based on personal preference.
